A+E Networks Mobile AR Prototyping Fellowship --- SUNDAY DEADLINE

A+E Networks Mobile AR Prototyping Fellowship—a $5,000 opportunity for NYC graduate students!

(Mobile AR experiments at NYC Media Lab's recent Exploring Future Reality conference)
HISTORY, part of A+E Networks, seeks to support NYC-based graduate students in a fellowship program that will begin in January 2018. Its focus is to use mobile AR platforms—ARKit for Apple iPhones and ARCore for Android phones—to explore 1968, the year that changed America.

Why 1968? Civil rights leaders were assassinated; the Vietnam War escalated; students protested; a new president was elected; men orbited the moon. The focus on 1968 reflects upcoming HISTORY programing—including experimentation with AR as a new storytelling medium—as the groundbreaking year celebrates its 50th anniversary.

What are the requirementsApplicants should be capable of rapid prototyping (coding, visual design and UX). While the focus will be ARKit and ARCore, expert knowledge of these platforms is not needed. Applicants should have experience with mobile development and a willingness to learn mobile AR.

What are the possibilities? Projects produced by this Fellowship may be included alongside the content efforts of the HISTORY editorial team. In last year's A+E Networks Digital Media Storytelling Fellowship, finished products were published on HISTORY.com and @HISTORY social media

Who is eligible to apply? Currently enrolled graduate students in a NYC-based university. This fellowship is intended for individual contributors or teams of no more than three students.

Don't miss the chance to apply! The application deadline is this Sunday, December 10th, 5PM.
