Responses to MVP

Q:
What thoughts, feelings, and impressions did you get? What worked or not worked? What do you think the story is? Were there any aspects that were confusing?

1. Scenes are changing too fast that it is hard to understand what is going on.

2. It was difficult to figure out who the protagonist was and what situation he is in.

3. The scenes after wearing the lens seem arbitrary; how are they related to the homeless person.

4.I like the beginning scene where the person picks the lens. It makes me curious. But, what follows after do not seem connected. There needs to be more impact.

5. I wish the scene where the person looks into the house is more interactive and have depth to it as if you can walk in there. They seem too distant.

6. I don't like the duck coming out of the clock. I get a question mark.

7. I like the music you used when the protagonist looks into the house. It sets a mood.

Key Takeaways

1. Make sure to communicate that the protagonist is homeless person.

2. Give more time for each scene for better understanding.

3.  Scenes following after lens pick up need to be more well threaded and connected;
be clear about what story or message you are trying to convey. Embody that message in those scenes.

AR Print Media Assignment:

In this assignment, I have tried to enhance the UX of the Lion King advertisement from the City Guide, which I got for free at the Pennsylvania Hotel. AR Gameplay Assignment:

Find at least 1 AR app, download it, use it, document your experience w screen captures or movies-post it to your bold page.

Experience:Playing Niantic's Ingress

On a weekend morning - most likely Saturday - I walked around the empty streets of blocks nearby my house, listening to the tutorial commands of game narrator through earphones and staring down at the map of portals on my Samsung Galaxy 8. Because its gameplay presumes the physical engagement and participation of the game player, and Ingress was the first AR game to ever play, I had temporary moment of annoyance and confusion with game mechanics.

With the world of Ingress overlaid on top of the real world, the once seemingly meaningless and irrelevant buildings and facilities in neighborhood took on a different meaning since they were now distinguished by either territories of my allies or that of enemies. In assimilating enemies territories into ours through detonation and installment of new building shields, I found myself interacting, although not directly, with buildings I had usually passed by in daily life. Although there were only a few pedestrians since it was a weekend, I also found myself feeling somewhat estranged and self-aware as as passerbys would glance at me out of curiosity.

My favorite aspect of the game mechanics was that in order to buy detonators or items for the expansion of territory the player has to earn currency by walking  and purchase such items.

Memory Assignment: Passing Corinth Canal

The subject of my recreation was the memory of gliding through Corinth Canal between the cliffs on a boat when I visited Greece this summer. Although there were many other special tourist sights I visited throughout the trip, the peaceful scenery and atmosphere of clear sky, crystal water, and tall cliffs of Corinth Canal remains to be the most vivid impression on me.

Process:

1. Find Assets from 3D Warehouse

2. Individually Import Assets/ Save Them as a Scene

3. Import Everything into a Scene / Start Creation Process

Final:
