Project Alpha-0.1

The horror movie cut.
I hope it is scary for you guys.
I feel like my project will start over again..= -=

At first, I planned to print this wall below as my augmented target, but sadly, this idea was rejected by Mark :(

Project Alpha-0.5

NOT SCARY BUT TECHINCAL.
Two important elements: Eye Tracking and Distance Detection.

Eye Tracking: the girl in the picture always looks at the player.

Distance Detection: the distance to trigger certain game objects is a really important element in the horror game, which means the player has to be very closer to trigger the clue.

I was learning coding in Unity to add sounds and effect.

Project Material Collection

This doll model is very suitable to be used in the horror game.

And here are some more doll models.

I would like to put a hole on the wall and make something suddenly appear.

And here is the background music.

If you are too close to the ghost, this image will suddenly appear with interesting sounds. XD

It is much easier to find good images than the 3D models......

Project IdEaS

What I plan in this project is to create an AR detective game (or horror game). The pictures below is where my ideas come from, the game Heavy Rain on PS3.

The FBI agent in the game used VERY COOL AR glasses to help him to find clues and clues.

The two videos below show the powerful functions of the AR glasses.

The pictures blow is Sherlock Holmes investigated the crime scene.

Assignment 4: Using Vuforia

Ziyuan Cheng

I use Vuforia to let this Squirtle use the skill "Water Gun".

(Let's just suppose it's shown on a printed magazine.  XD)

Assignment 3: Reveal the Unseen

Ziyuan Cheng

I use Layar to put the Saturn in the sky hoping to create something marvellous, but it didn't meet my expectation. So I put the Jupiter in front of my computer screen......

Here is the "Expectation VS Reality".

Assignment 2: Magazine

Ziyuan Cheng

I use Layar to enhance the reading experience of New York Times. Here is the video.

I also tried a little Unity with Vuforia, which is showing a 3D assassin model when scanning the game magazine cover. Because it is very simple, I just put some pictures here.

Assignment 1: Recreating Memory

Ziyuan Cheng

My memory is about walking through the Brooklyn Bridge on September 11th 2016 which is a few days ago. 15 years ago on that day, the horrifying attack occurred and killed thousands of people. In memorial of these victims, each year when reaching September 11th, two beams illuminate the sky at that place, which is shown in the picture. On that bridge, the view of Manhattan was really beautiful and the weather was nice that day. When seeing the two beams lighting the sky, I really hope the world peace and this kind of disaster would never happen again.

To do this, I searched for certain 3D models on 3D warehouse, downloaded, put them together and refined some details with Sketch Up.

From this view, we may also see the Statue Liberty on the left side of the picture.

I tried to use Maya to recreate the memory, but some of the OBJ files did’t come up with textures when imported to Maya (and the texture button is on). Therefore I use Sketch Up to  complete it and I’ll try to figure out what’s wrong later in Maya.
