Launched by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, NYU and Columbia University, NYC Media Lab is a public-private partnership encompassing the universities of NYC and corporate members such as Associated Press, Audible, Hearst, ESPN, Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Bloomberg, Weather Company, NBCUniversal, Viacom and Verizon.
The Lab's interests range across disciplines from data science to design to engineering, and its programs include seed R&D projects with member companies as well as The Combine, an early stage accelerator program that encourages digital media startup entrepreneurship and technology commercialization on the City’s campuses.

Guys- You have to search harder about your ideas-
I got this on my VERY 1st search- and this result was at the top of the page.....
You need to know as much as possible b4 you start. Being able to see what someone else did, b4 you start "trying to do it", could save you sooooooooooo much time and money. You can see what works and where their project needs improvement. Maybe it does not work at all. If you were really trying to make an app for the market you would study the other projects. Who are their user's? [this is sooooooooooooooooooooo valuable!!!!!!!!], their reviews, etc.... You should email or call them and try to get information. You could act as an investor.... then they might tell you all the good parts... are they profitable? The most important question is, how do they make money? Sometimes they will tell you if you ask the right questions. and they will if u ask the right questions.
Your goal should be to create AR that people will use. You must connect w ur target audience as quickly as possible. Listen to them!! If you ask the right questions they will give u billion dollar answers ^^ - Practice- you get better the more you do it. Don't worry if they don't like what you are doing-
Get them to tell you what they like- "how would you change it?"
I forgot to mention - but it's in the video- under the AR Kit cam - you can enable the ARKit light override- Check it out- it does real-time lighting from the real-world location.
Hi Guys-
These videos are made for startup companies. For those of you who are more on the art side, these movies are still very useful. There are a bunch of movies below but they are very short. Most are under 1 min. I urge you to watch all of them. If you are serious about deploying your project to the public YOU MUST WACT ALL THE VIDEOS. They will save you time and money. It will get you to the correct solution faster.
Be prepared to present your findings to the class in 3 mins or less.
