Feedbacks:
(Interviewed people: 3 girls, are mostly from engineering background, one is from marketing. Luckily, one of them used to play drums)

Generally, people feel interested in the project, they thought it is fun to play with it. No one would like to pay for it, while giving many useful suggestions.

1. About MVP:
  • Use music to make people more immersive.
2. About the target audience:
  • Can be the parent who would like to record their kids.
3. About the content:
  • Have to be customized:
  1. Characters
  2. How many sound channels
  3. What if we can record users sound and the pitch can be shifted to be fun.
  4. If its possible it will be good to remix there own songs.
  5. The character should be the one they love: such as pop stars, Miku, comic characters (The key point to let them pay for it)
  • How good the musics are really matters.

4. About the function:
  • The function to share and record

**
In conclusion, the project should be the one people have something to record and share. The content of the project should be the one either is fun enough or related to them.

Week 8 ---- Multi Object in one scene & Scale

Task:
1. Detect and set a plane on the floor.
2. To put multiple objects in one scene.

----Found Wikitude has such package of do it.

2. Tried with one model first.

3. Then tries two models. (ignore the interface design~)

4. Test:

!! Problem:
  • The package I use is a trial version, which will always have a "Trail" watermark.

  • Find another way to do the markerless AR.
  • Continue with the sound stuff (direction).

  • Make an animation to the object to see the status better. (Ball rotation)
  • Put buttons of "Play", "Fixed" and "Stop"

Results:

  • Tried to adjust the sound according to the distances

  • Tried with both earphone and sound speaker of the phone, though didn't success:(

Week 6 ---- Midterm Presentation

Week 5 Homework----- Geo-based AR

After Graduation of college, my friends used to play with me are all in the different places in the world.

While

2017 League of Legend World Champion is now ongoing.

Then I'm thinking about send each of my friends a hero, so that it seems like we are playing the game again on the world map!!

I used Layar to finish the part.

 Model for QS

Model for PB

My test

A friend in China helped me to test the AR.

Week 4 Homework ----- AR with ARKit

I'm a Game of Thrones fan. I love this show so much, so that when I saw the sign on the subway ideas just come into my mind.

There is a character called Hodor, his story is really touching and moving.

While the story is so difficult to tell, so here is the video about Hodor.

Then, I'm thinking about create a game under the subway station scenario. I'm thinking about it could be a real fun, if we play with this character and if you Lose the game Hodor's gonna tell you "DO NOT HOLD THE DOOR!"

Here is what I have made for a prototype.

Week 3 Homework----- Movement in AR with Unity & Vuforia

For public signs, I have walked around and these are the signs I have found.

Then I tried to do some AR with WI-FI logo.

This is the  Target image I use:
Generally, I would like to create a scene that the the WIFI logo just showed up, then it flies away. A parachute guiding you to the magic garden, which represent the interesting internet world.

Results:

Week 2 Homework---- Scan A Printed Image

To create a unique experience specific to the target image, I consider some printed image that everyone are available to scan. So I chose one dollar bill as my targeted image.

This summer I went to Las Vagas. Inspired by the slot machine, I made a layer based on this.
When targeted the image on computer screen(No sound because it's videoed by Aurasma App):

When targeted a real dollar bill(With sound):

Week 1 Homework

-----Augmented Reality App
  • Pokemon Go

  • Inngress

  • Google Translate
This is the salted cashew I used to test the App. The first photo is the original one that needed to be translated.

I have tried several distances to test the translation results.

(a) From a normal distance
(b) Take a close look
(c) View afar

Results
According to the results, the google translate generally is useful and accurate. The idea of using AR is freshing and practical. However, for lacking the context, the translation sometimes is funny. (There are "nuts" rather "nuts"in cashew :p). Also, we need to take the photograph from certain distance to have the best results.

---- Create your Own Memory
This summer I went to the Inner Mongolia. The scenes were memorable to me. There were endless grasslands, clear sky, just looks like the windows classic wallpaper.
The screenshots below are the model I made according to the picture I took. (Quite the same, Ahha!)
