WEEK 4

1. Unity + ARKit

My concept was to bring animation from television into a real time experience. This example is a short episode taking place on the subway platform.

Below is a part of the animation from Unity.

WEEK 1                                                                                                          September 15th

1. Mobile Application - Augmented Reality: Transparent Earth

I downloaded the Transparent Earth app on the iOS platform while using an iPhone 4. Unfortunately, there are very few apps on the App Store which can be downloaded as of today on the iPhone 4, but surprisingly there were plenty of augmented reality app's available that are supported by the previous operating system of Apple.

The platform this app provides is a very interesting version of discovering different corners of the Earth in relation to your orientation. It provides for various future development options if integrated with Google Maps or Google Earth.

Locating the horizon

Exploring the neighboring countries

Reaching out to Australia

Standing on the South Pole

Finding Home :)

2. Re-Creating a Memory

The most overwhelming memory that I have tried to recreate is of my first week in the Big Apple, New York City. It is as much and much more than what I have seen of this city in movies, TV shows and the print media. The excitement of looking at the city from the sky where every bit is captured in one look to being in the street and getting swallowed by the vastness is incomparable to any metropolitan city. My first week was all about getting lost to find something new (every time).

New York City from the airplane

Travelling in NYC subway for the first time

Waiting for the doors to open

 Walking through the crowded station

Reaching an unexpected destination

Living the Dream

Loosing myself in the Vastness

Being here is finally sinking in!
